A well needed rest

Training had taken a toll on both Brandy and Haylee. Haylee was burnt to a crisp and Brandy was sweating buckets. They had been shooting targets all day and they felt it was time to rest.

Haylee couldn't find a tree that was suitable for shade so she sat down wherever the grass was the least crunchy. She untacked Brandy, putting all of her tack on the fence. She took off her top and quickly wrapped her bandana around her chest, shielded by her horse. The mare shook her entire body and yawned as Haylee took the bridle off. She flicked her tail and looked longingly after her, waiting patiently for her best friend to come and sit by her. Haylee dropped the bridle on the horn of the saddle and let out a whistle as she saw two hot cowboys hop on a bronco. They both tipped their hats and one gave her a wink.

She turned around to her beloved mare and pointed to the ground and whistled, signaling Brandy to lay down. The mares feet buckled underneath her and she lay down with a thump. She turned her head towards Haylee and Haylee lay down next to her with her Colt 45, just in case. The mare lay back on her lap with a groan and began to doze off as Haylee stroked the beautiful mares neck. This was a well needed rest after many days of training the young chestnut mare.

With each day, Brandy was turning into a western star. She was able to steal from anyone, turn on a dime, and not flinch at the sound of a pistol. Her progress in this short amount of time was impeccable. She was bound to win.

They had also made some friends along the way too, Angelica and Malakai from Serenity Lake. They had become very close in the short amount of time and have been training together in numerous sessions. They had devised up a plan for the future when the games actually begin but as of right now, it's top secret...
