The five days of Kiss

I can't believe it's actually done !!

So I love this I found a ton of pictures I love and I decided to put them all together ! And wala, we have the five days of training with Kiss ! There is more to come

I also thought it was a good idea to show 5 days of training and how different horses are from day to day. Especially at a show

And I didn't put a lot of detail into each pic cause I just wanted to get it done But I am pleased with it

DAY 1
^{Getting used to the surroundings}

Riley was putting her boots on as the patient Kiss stood on the wash rack, all ready for battle I guess you could say. She had bought a martingale for her and decided to use it because she didn't know how the frisky mare would act. She made sure all of the tack fit correctly and hopped on her mare.

Riley nudged Kiss forward into the schooling ring. All of the colorful jumps were set up and the stadium was filled with curious spectators, snapping their cameras a mile a minute. Kiss trotted nervously in place as she flung her head back and forth to look at what was going on around her. Riley felt as if she shouldn't jump today, for her safety. She proceeded to show her jittery mare all of the jumps. She shyed at a few but not big enough to make a scene.

Riley felt that was enough for the day and went back into the stable to untack Kiss.

DAY 2
^{Time for some action}

As soon as the pair walked into the ring, Kiss felt like a totally different horse. She was less nervous about the stadium and felt more confident. Riley cantered her around the ring, trying to avoid other horses. She waited until there were less horses in the ring and then she proceeded to jump.

The jumps were a decent size, a bit smaller then Kiss was used to but she seemed to enjoy the comfort of jumping. They were in sync around the arena, flying seemlessly over "scary" jumps. When both Riley and Kiss were drenched in sweat both from the workout and the excitement, Riley decided to call it a day.

DAY 3
^{Higher standards. Literally.}

Riley had looked at the arena prior to tacking up her mare and her jaw dropped. All of the jumps had been raised at least a foot. The wall was a massive 5 feet, making Riley a bit nervous. She still tacked up Kiss besides the huge jumps.

They made their way into the ring and it was a bit more quiet then usual. The crowd wasn't as dense and their were only a few horses in the ring. Ignoring her surroundings, Riley cantered off towards a warm up jump. Kiss didn't even look twice and continued on. She made a sharp turn towards a 4 foot fence. Kiss saw what was coming and changed her strides to make the jump. Success. She turned her head and decided to go for it. The wall.

She dug her heels into her mares side and she sped up immediately. She saw what was up ahead and went for it. It felt like they were in the air for 5 long seconds and then they landed. GOD she loved that mare.

DAY 4
^{Off day}

They had been working for 2 hours already. Kiss wasn't getting her strides for some reason and Riley was getting nervous. What was up with her? Is she LAME? Horrible questions were running through her mind. She had gotten off multiple times but her mare seemed perfectly sound. Weird.

They cantered around a few more times and jumped about. Kiss just seemed to be having an off day. Riley decided not to ride for another hour and wear the mare out so she hopped off and gave her a nice long bath.

DAY 5
^{A need for speed}

Riley forgot to put Kiss in one of the pastures the night before so Kiss was feeling a bit frisky. She tacked her up, while she pawed the ground continuously. After 10 minutes of fidgeting with getting her in the bridle, Riley walked her out to the ring. She would NOT stand still for the life of her so she had to ask a trainer to hold her horse. Embarassed, she finally got on and Kiss, being a mare, took off walking as fast as she could. She should have lunged her...

They LEAPED over fences and galloped around corners as fast as they could. Kiss was feeling GOOD ! Riley didn't even try to slow her down cause she was having a ball too !

They both had a need for speed ! Once Kiss had begun to calm down, the trainers gave Riley the look that said finally our horses can jump now without getting run over. She gave a cheeky smile and trotted out of the ring.
